Text to Speech FAQ

How does this text-to-speech tool work?

It uses the Web Speech API provided by your browser or operating system. Voice quality, language support and controls depend on your device and browser.

Why do available voices differ between devices?

Browsers expose voices installed by the operating system or provided by the browser. A voice available on one device may not exist on another.

Can I download the spoken audio?

Not with the current browser-based version. It plays speech through your device but does not create an MP3 or other downloadable audio file.

Can I pause and resume speech?

Yes, when your browser supports those controls. Some browsers handle pause and resume differently for long passages.

Is my text sent to Toolerd's server?

This page does not call a Toolerd backend endpoint. Speech is handled by the browser's speech-synthesis system, although the browser or operating system may manage voices according to its own implementation.

Why is no speech playing?

Check your device volume, choose another voice, allow audio playback and confirm that your browser supports speech synthesis.
